The 'Visible Soul' series, seeks to identify the specific shape and scope of a soul.

My interest emerges from the simultaneous loss of my mother and birth of my children. I am drawn to the individuality of both stone and soul, each worn and eternal, with the ability to rise from the core yet gravity-bound. Rocks reflect spirituality, as they come from the core of the earth, in the same way our souls exist within us...massive, unseen and solid. When you hold a stone in your hand, it is a link to the past, present and future. The sewn surface is composed of fragile elements, tiny increments, a cellular collection paralleling our own delicate skins. The process of stitching beads is labor intensive and lingering. It is a way of making a mark and becomes a remnant of the passing of time, a memory of breath, a record of pulse, an accumulation of wisdom and authority.

The soul defines the surface and seen in glimpses, seeks to uncover the potential revealed within.
